Inspiring action to tackle the climate crisis together

Our collective home is in the process of being turned totally upside down which is leading to strife for almost all life on Earth. We know it’s preventable. And we know it’s not going to save itself.

Our mission & values

We formed U Offset to inspire change, for too long now we have heard much talk with no action. Our aim is to build a community that can drive change, through education, support and verified offsetting investment in global and local schemes.

Our community provides a digital platform to collaborate, to inspire others, to gather momentum, to take meaningful action in our fight against our climate change.

Inspire

Through information, education, innovation and community collaboration, we want to provide information on our climate emergency, our impacts and what we can do to reduce, and we want you, our community to get involved.

Action

Our climate emergency will not be solved without action and change. We can all play our part in reducing our impact and collectively make a difference to our communities and environment.

Impact

We will provide verified offsetting solutions facilitating investment in local and global schemes that create the greatest amount of change.

How your U Offest subscription helps the planet

Renewable Energy

Renewable energy sources make up 26% of the world’s electricity, and in 2020, the UK hit a new amazing renewable energy milestone. On Wednesday 10th June, the country celebrated two months of running purely on renewable energy for the first time ever.

This is a great step in the right direction for renewables. We invest in overseas projects to help the world reach the goal of 100% faster.

Planting Seagrass

Seagrasses occupy 0.1% of the seafloor, yet are responsible for 11% of the organic carbon buried in the ocean. Seagrass meadows, mangroves and coastal wetlands capture carbon at a 15x rate greater than that of tropical forests.

Seagrass meadows provide food and habitat for 1000’s of species such as shellfish, seahorses, manatees, and sea turtles. Over 30 times more animals live within seagrass compared to adjacent sandy habitats.

Planting Trees

It’s now common knowledge that one of the best tools to tackle the climate crisis and keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C is to plant trees. They are also crucial to preventing ecological collapse.

Our tree planting partner will plant millions of trees around the world each month. We are currently supporting their incredible work in Madagascar.

Offsetting Emissions

At U Offset we invest your money into projects that remove more greenhouse gasses than your own carbon footprint puts in.

Each month we support a range of carbon reduction projects such as investing in renewable energy, that are certified at the very highest level by Gold Standard.

Projects we invest in

Here are the schemes we are currently or have previously invested in. They are all verified by Gold Standard, and contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Transparency

When we say we put your money to great use, it’s important you see that it is. You can see the paper trail of the impact we make on this platform.

Why offset with U Offset?

We inspire action

Our Gold Standard certified carbon credits are considered the most rigorous climate standard by many NGOs, including WWF and the David Suzuki Foundation.
